Ki Ni Big Deal?

Posted by: Keji Ogunbanjo on: January 26, 2009

That’s the question people have asked themselves time and time again when a year ends chronologically and another one begins seeing all the preparations that goes into a flip of the calendar, the chime of the clock ticking away normally at past midnight, change in date…nothing special really happens or so it seems…There are no comets that fall from the sky, no fireworks, or angels’ announcement to herald the ‘new year‘, so really ki ni big deal? !(what’s the big deal?!)

Well, it may seem like nothing….But there is a lot to be Thankful for; The Lordfirst of all has been gracious enough to (allow you witness the inauguration of Barack Obama.lol )bless us with another season of life, rainfall, harmattan (afterall were we not the ones complaining last year when the rains extended more than it’s usual duration. Thank God we had some other season to look forward to, how about that!), sunlight, the cool evening breeze, etc. How about the fact that He kept us from going crazy inspite of all the challenges you’ve had to face, for His protection, His provision even when you know that you are spending more than your paycheck…

If an opportunity has been provided for us to  be accountable to ourselves and to others measured by a definite timeline, to take stock of our actions, accomplishments, successes, shortcomings, et cetera so we may know where we are falling short, realign ourselves with our goals and rekindle our desires to act concerning  our dreams, I suggest we make use of it wisely and be grateful for such opportunities. What’s the use of existing without truly living? We think we have a whole lifetime ahead of us so we are not really in a hurry about achieving our purpose, goals and dreams and contributing positively to humanity and then all of a sudden we discover like a thunderbolt that we no longer have the energies and bubble to do certain things that we should have at certain times in the seasons of our lives…Talk about a living tragedy.

So my dear friends, the long and short of the matter is, let’s have a positive attitude towards the new year, let’s be optimistic about reaching out once more for what is truly ours and stop beefing the ‘new year’ for all the preparations it heralds.lol. The past year has been a myriad of events; graduations and weddings, birthdays and burials, achievements and disappointments maybe becos we didn’t meet the deadlines of the headlines we set out for ourselves…But In spite of all that let’s look forward to this  new opportunity making sure that no day goes by without addingvalue to us and to others around us.

For me, I’m grateful that God has been faithful and consistent in proving to me and showing me in many more ways than one that I’m His Biggest Deal. Thank You Lord!!!

Each day we live gives us another chance to do better

waoh, its great to know dat we are (not u alone) God’s BIGGEST DEALS. really comforting and encouraging to know. i remember singing this song “Ise Oluwa, Ko le Baje O” and u know what God told me dat meant, He reminded me that i’m His workmanship, fearully and wonderfully made, and thats what actually cannot go worng not what i am trusting Him to do. It is me, His Model that cannot come out inferior, His PRICELESS PRODUCT that cannot come out inferior. thats why with a deep sense of understanding we can say that we know that all things are working together for our good.
