“It’s official, the U.K is now in a recession…!”That was the news headline from CNN and just one of the many news headlines that have been making rounds the world over for a long while now and sad to say the forecast for this year is no different from the words that have come to form part of our vocabulary now, I know you know the words I’m talking about…words like Financial Crunch, Global Financial Meltdown, Downward turn, Global economic crisis, Economic recession, Global Food Shortage and the list is endless…everything seems to be going down and the print and electronic media has done enough justice to spreading the news around so much that there is so much uncertainty and frustration in the air already in the waking hours of this new year that one wonders what else is there to hope for…
True we are living in a time when everybody is struggling for their lives…people are distressed, depressed, stressed out after much losses to the stock market, losses to investments opportunities here and there, people are fast losing their jobs and more jobs will be still be lost, long standing world systems and economies are crashing and long standing organisations are facing deep financial crisis that they have not encountered in the last century, or decades and are cutting down jobs. These words have also come from the pulpit and from our various churches and places of worship; It’s going to be a challenging year, It’s going to be a tough year, a year of famine etc There is so much fear, gloom and uncertainty in the air that people are not sure what to do anymore…and I’m quite surprised at the amount of literature that has been churned out already in such a short span of time; various authors that suddenly feel they are authorities writing severally (please don’t get me wrong, I know there are genuine authorities who are to be reckoned with) on how to manage a financial crisis, what to do in a recession, how to survive during famine, steps to take in times like these…And I wonder, I just wonder…
But permit me to ask this question, What do you think, speak and see for yourself this new year? What are the thoughts that are running through your mind in the twilight of this new year? What are the things you had hoped to achieve even before the financial crunch, crisis or warrever started…?
After having heard various versions of the same discouraging news from different places and i daresay more discouraging news will still be heard, I think it’s time for us to settle down and map out a strategy for survival for ourselves and create the life we want for us to live this new year. I’ve often told myself especially this year that I need to get serious with my confessions. One of my confessions is “My lifestyle will notĀ diminish in any way because of the global economic crisis or whatever that is going on around me. The news is a fact but it’s not the truth. I operate under a different government . I shall believe the report of the Lord. His report says, The Lord is my Shepherd, I SHALL NOT WANT/BE IN LACK “. I discovered that a lot of the people that are getting ahead have built up their household of faith (faith lives) and are fortified by such confessions that when the strong winds of doubt, depression and every other negative feeling or emotion that comes with times like this, they don’t fall down, they just keep right with their confessions and why not? The things that were and are created were framed by words…and that leads me to the next question…
What words are you speaking? Do you know that God is just waiting for you tell Him your dreams even the unspoken onesĀ as long as they have been uttered or thought about so He can bring them to pass? If only you will believe in yourself and what you say, think and ask for. There is nothing too hard for God to do. Don’t lose your battle of your life to things like low self esteem, depression, substance abuse, gangsterism, suicide…
Remember there is power invested in you (ye are gods…Psalm 82:6) Fight for your life! Speak Life over yourself and those you love. Speak blessings of health, blessings of peace, afterall the scripture says it very clearly, “Be it unto me according to your word”, “When others say there is a casting down, we say there is a lifting up“, “”With the heart man believeth but with his confession is made unto salvation“. Truth is you help yourself by what you speak. What have you been speaking to yourself? Speak Life! You shall live and not die!
I urge you my friend to Speak Life!
No matter what happened or will happen, we are for the world but for the heaven, God had poor for us to rich, so i believe in God’s promise which says: The Lord is my Shepherd, I SHALL NOT WANT/BE IN LACK.
Cheers!!!
Hi kaygee,
Yours is inspiring! Psalm 23.5 ( amp) ” You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil my brimming cup runs over”. It is important to remember that we cant eat at Lords table and be negative, also God will only prepare a table in the presence of our enemies,He wont force us to eat, it is your choice to eat at the table that God has prepared and not feel bad about it.
What determines what you will eat is your mouth.A man is filled with the fruit of his mouth.
our enemies ( fear, insecurity, indecision, complex) unconscoiusly crept into our lives for God to show us up as a ,living epistles to the world by conquering them
Let your mouth eat from the tree of life and forsake the fruit of death and be prosperous and stay healthy.Job36.16, psalm 50.23
cheers
